Is the Artura Mclaren's First High-Performance Hybrid Supercar?
Mclaren Automotive recently revealed a video confirming the Mclaren Artura name, while saying it's the 'full force of Mclaren'
Mclaren have recently confirmed the name for their next supercar, the Artura, and yes it's an actual name this time and not a number of bhp. It is set to be a hybrid supercar that is expected to go on market and to be unveiled early of next year (first half of next year).
With the times changing, the car world is changing as well, and many supercar and car brands are starting to be more efficient, they are starting to dabble into the electric and hybrid supercar world. Now, Mclaren are trying something new with the Artura... a few moths ago we spotted a new Mclaren testing on a track, and it revealed to be a new V6 hybrid. Could this be the Artura? Well... what we know so far is that the new Artura will be the first series-production supercar from the British company to be done with electrification, which is something very new with Mclaren. Mclaren are trying something new, and they are taking a step into this new world, calling it a High-Performance Hybrid. McLaren has confirmed and revealed little hints that it has also used a lightweight measures system to reduce and help with the new High-Performance Hyrbrid arrangement.
What will this new HPH bring to the table? Obviously we don't know too much about the Artura yet but it is set and expected to be "A supercar for a new era" giving us the insight that it must be a part of the hybrid electric future of supercars. With the months counting down and 2021 coming closer, we cannot wait to learn more about this new McLaren project.
What we know so far:
- It is going on sale early next year
- It will be Mclaren's all new HPH
- It will be the first Mclaren supercar and model to be done with the new electrification-optimised platform.
- It is a V6 hybrid, which is not the usual twin turbo-charged V8 Mclaren uses
- The part everyone is wondering about is, if it will be electric? So far we know that it is a hybrid, and also the McLaren Artura will be powered by a twin-turbo V6, very different from Mclaren's usual supercars powered by the 4.0L V8.
Mclaren has proved to be a consistent company that keeps coming up with better and better supercars and new fresh ideas, now we cannot wait to see what the all new Mclaren Artura brings to the supercar world. We wouldn't be surprised if Mclaren drops huge hints and little spices here or there about the new Artura. We cannot wait...
