Is the term 'Petrolhead' dying out?

The thought of the idea that the term 'petrolhead' dying out is never something I ever anticipated as it is such a big part of my life. Upon closer look and using my 'brain power' (not much there) I noticed that the rise of electric vehicles and autonomous driving means that possibly at some point in the future or near future as Elon Musk seems to think all manufacturers will make autonomous and most likely electric cars in the next 10 years.

This is a very scary thought if you are a true petrolhead as where's the fun in autonomous driving round a windy country road? We don't just care about the pretty views!

But surely not all car manufacturers will make JUST electric cars but you never know. If it is the case that we are switching completely to electric or other means of power does that mean we will be called 'electric heads' or worse 'hydrogen heads'!

Saying this however, this is the most exciting time to be alive if you are a car enthusiast because of the vast improvements and changes we are seeing in the automotive world. As I am only young I have grown up with a lot of this change and will hopefully see much more throughout the rest of my life. You may be worried that car content on platforms such as Youtube and shows like the Grand Tour will be dying out but of course they won't, I am actually excited for things like that in the future especially if they bring out autonomous F1, I think that would be hilarious!

What do you think? Will the 'petrolhead' die out?
