We know that Tesla are connected and constantly receive updates. Sometimes it is the software that is improved and bugs fixed. It also happens that new functions are unlocked. Even more interesting, the engine power can be increased, and that's what happened with the last update!

The management of the software controlling the power of the Model 3 has been improved, resulting in an increase in vehicle power of around 5%. This increase will have an obvious impact on the car's performance and therefore on the acceleration, which was already high before the update. As a result, the most powerful Model 3, the Performance, would do 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds!

To give you an idea, it's as fast as a Lamborghini Aventador or a Ferrari 812 Superfast! The two cars mentioned above have an impressive V12 engine and both cost around £257.000/$330,000. It's almost six times more expensive than the Model 3 Performance which is in addition much more daily drivable. So it's a hard hit for supercar manufacturers...

And this famous figure comes from the DragTimes Youtube channel where a Model 3 Performance owner had the good idea to compare a Model 3 Performance before update and a Model 3 Performance after update. The differences seem quite obvious since the Model 3 Performance before update does 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 s. After updating, the car is able to perform the exercise in less than 3 seconds!
