Is this Ferrari really worth $7.5 million?
We all know Ferrari's to auction for high prices especially vintage ones but this one is pretty much brand new! What actually makes it worth $7.5 million? Well, it is a LaFerrari Aperta which is the 'convertible' version of the already rare LaFerrari. You were very lucky to be able to get one when they were new.
This one is going up for auction next month in Scottsdale at a RM Sotheby's auction. It is estimated to sell for a whopping $7.5 million (£5.9 million). That does seem like quite a lot considering it cost $2.2 million when new around two years ago when they only made 'around' 200 units.
However, the LaFerrari isn't just pretty it also has some seriously impressive stats such as a 6.3L V12 producing 950 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque with a 0-62 time of 2.4 seconds and a top speed of over 217 mph. Not to mention a 1:19:7 lap time around Fiorano (which is the fastest a road legal Ferrari has gone around the legendary Italian track).
When Ferrari auctioned off the 210th and final example of the Aperta, it sold for almost $10 million, setting a new record. Taking that into consideration, $7.5 million doesn't seem all that bad...if it actually sells....
