Taming the beast that is the Great British b-road is not an easy task, but certain cars make this so fun. The twists the turns and the cascading drops that make thrashing your car terrifyingly brilliant. And in my opinion the king of the b-road is the infamous Porsche 911.
With its timeless curvy looks that seemingly don’t age elegantly cutting through the air as you rejoice at the sweet noise of its powerful but not traumatising flat 6 that sits comfortably in the rear. The interior is a pleasant place to be however if its luxury you are after you should look elsewhere.
The ride is smoother than most sports cars however you will still feel quite a few bumps but that is a miniscule price to pay for the sheer joy this magnificent car gifts you. The 911 is also often regarded as the most practical of sports cars which makes it perfect for a daily driver.
Where this car truly shines is through the notorious handling that is simply unrivalled by anything else that has ever existed that isn’t another 911. The turn in is sharper than a harpoon piercing through a helpless salmon. The 50/50 weight distribution thanks to the rear engine is causes the 911 to dart into corners with the agility and grace of a gazelle.
This car isn’t the best sports car on the market, that’s probably the jaguar f type but this car is something more than that, it’s the best all round car ever made.
