    • Came oh so close to buying one in the late '70's. It had the 3.8l, first gear synchros were toast so starting in that tall 2nd was a clutch burner, and a modified 2cv style sardine can roof (that was lovely and bitchin but barely worked). I suppose if I had bought it I wouldn't be posting as I long ago would have spun it off a cliff.

    • To drive an E Type back in the 60s taught you the difference between a car and a 'real' car. The difference in handling, braking, acceleration and just sheer beauty was astounding. To go back to a Morris Minor or 100E after driving a Jag E Type was almost soul destroying. Glad to say I drove a couple of E Types in the 60s, unfortunately I didn't own either of them.
