Jaguar isn't messing around when it comes to turning the wick up on every model in its range that can handle a bit more pep, with the latest release being a fettled XJR. The fastest and most powerful XJ ever, the XJR575 uses Jag's monstrous 5.0-litre supercharged V8 tuned to a new high (for an XJ) of 567bhp and 516lb ft of torque.

That's 25bhp and 15lb ft over and above the regular XJR and results in 0-60mph coming in 4.2 seconds on its way to a 186mph top speed. It's not the most powerful Jag - the XE SV Project 8 takes that prize with 592bhp - but the XJR575 uses the exact same tune as that of the F-Type SVR, Jag's first 200mph car since the XJ220.

It's not cheap - prices start at £93,710 - but it's not the most expensive in the range, with the long-wheelbase claiming the top spot at £101,370.

The launch of the XJR575 comes along with a list of updates for the whole XJ range. Two new colours are available (Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey) along with a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, traffic detection, lane assist and a tiredness monitor.

With engines ranging from a 296bhp 3.0-litre diesel to the 567bhp V8, the XJ has plenty to offer. We'll take the loud one please.
