Last week, Jaguar announced the I-Pace, beating Audi, BMW and Mercedes to produce a rival to Tesla’s Model X. The I-Pace immediately turned heads, as it came out that the car could beat the Model X from 0-60-0, albeit it was a 75D model.
Jaguar displayed the I-Pace in two specifications
Jaguar’s first All-Electric road car produces 395BHP and has a 298 mile range. The car also has a 0-60MPH time of 4.5 seconds and is priced from £58,995, or £76,500 for the fully-optioned, First Edition, that’s after the Government incentive. Charging takes 45 minutes to get to 80% on a 100kW rapid charger, or 10 hours on a 7kW home box charger, but Jaguar expect you to leave the car on overnight. The car sends power to all-four wheels, with a motor on each axle, each delivering 197BHP each.
Inside, the I-Pace features JLR’s latest Touch Pro Duo twin screen infotainment system. The British company hasn’t got rid of buttons completely like in the Tesla though, and has kept buttons for gearbox controls and climate control dials.
