Jaguar XE discontinued in US after 2020

Another sedan bites the dust.

This isn't really surprising: a slow-selling sedan is being discontinued in the US in favor of crossovers. This time around it's the Jaguar XE, Jaguar's (until now) entry-level sedan.

However good to drive the XE was, it had a number of flaws that kept it from being the best in its class. As a result, monthly sales struggled to break the 1000-barrier even before COVID, and now it's way less than that. So it would only make sense for Jaguar to kill the XE in favor of the E-Pace crossover, which has double the amount of sales.

As a result of this, the XF midsize sedan will get a price drop to compensate, which Jaguar says is a better overall value than the XE.

  • The US is all about SUV's and Pickup trucks, preferably with big block V8, because f**k the environment, they just can't wait for judgment day to arrive...

    • I don't hate you, I have a lot of friends in the US, it's just the behaviour of some/many. Whilst the rest of the world drive econoboxes the big block V8 is still standard in the US.

  • It doesnt make sense to sell it if nobody buys it.
