James May's Ferrari 458 Speciale has finally reappeared!

We thought the worst...

7w ago

James May famously bought a Ferrari 458 Speciale a few years ago, cheekily getting one of the final cars off the production line. With its almost orange paint and gold wheels, it's definitely from a different side of May's brain than the Tesla Model S and Toyota Mirai that currently sit next to it in his bunker.

It has been away from the public eye for what seems like years, but James finally has the V8 thoroughbred back in his garage, ready for a thrash into the countryside when lockdown lifts. I grabbed him for a chat about the car, and how his 2021 is going so far.

Enjoy the watch!

  • What a Birthday treat, to have last and greatest (2nd) of the holy trinity is wonderful. Can’t wait for the next special.

  • So our future is James May and donkeys? πŸ˜‚ I'm not going to ask what prompted whatever was happening with the toy giraffe at the end. Of the 3, I think this video was the most interesting

  • Such a weird colour for that 458, yet it fits May just fine. Still a sterling choice today, really, that car, and I think it's appreciating slightly because it's the last non-turbo berlinetta.
