Anyone who watched Clarkson, Hammond and May era 'Top Gear' will remember James May's 2009 adventures in a caravan based airship. It was one of those episodes that sticks in people's minds, not least because of the apparent jeopardy.

Of course we all know not everything we see on the TV is real and Top Gear is an entertaiment show, so suspend your disbelief. I thought you might like to see these behind the scenes photos taken by photographer Rod Fountain who travelled the world with the Top Gear team which he recently published on his Instagram page @Occams_cat.

Rod says 'I'll never forget this morning at Cardington Hangers with Top Gear. Never in all the years watching them arse about did I think they might actually die... until this airship caravan moment! That was absolutely petrifying to watch, James May took it all in his stride'. So it seems newspaper reports of fake jeopardy may have been overplayed!

Remember, don't believe everything you read in the media, but take a pinch of entertainment salt with your TV too.
