Jeep and Mopar launch a new suspension kit for the Wrangler and Gladiator
Are the Wrangler and Gladiator raising their game?
Sales figures for the new Ford Bronco exceed all forecasts for the oval brand. As a result, the Wrangler's leadership in the 4x4 category is starting to be seriously threatened. Unsurprisingly, Jeep continues to upgrade the Wrangler and Gladiator to keep up with the troublesome competitor from Dearborn.
Today, the American brand offers a suspension kit composed of numerous parts mainly aimed at increasing the ground clearance of the Wrangler and Gladiator. This practice, performed by independent garages, is common in the United States. These modifications can now be ordered right out of the factory.
The package adds many new features such as new FOX shock absorbers, revised front suspension arms and reinforced bumpers. All of this adds up to a 5 cm increase in ground clearance. Suspension travel has been improved by 18%. Ideal for optimizing off-road capabilities.
It now remains to be seen whether this suspension kit will be sufficient to effectively counter the arrival of the Bronco. Probably not and that's why Jeep will regularly add other elements to its Wrangler before its future replacement.
