Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk - First Impressions
My first impressions of the new Trackhawk!
What do you get when you put the biggest, baddest V8 from FCA into a 2500kg Jeep Grand Cherokee? You get the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk!
First and foremost, this ain't no normal soccer mum's car - this monster has the Hellcat 6.2 litre supercharged V8 with a massive 522kW of power and a stonking 868Nm of torque. It does 0-100km/h (0-62.5mph) in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 289km/h (180mph).
Little hints as to the heritage of the Trackhawk come in the frontal treatment, Supercharged badges on both front doors and the massive 20" machine finish alloy wheels with 295/45ZR20 Pirelli Scorpion tyres. There are black finish 20" alloys with Pirelli P-Zero tyres as an option (in Australia, this will cost A$3250). These Pirelli tyres are run flats but the Trackhawk retains a 195/70R20 space saver spare tyre if you choose to use it - most people will not use it.
Frontal treatment as follows: the three piece intake is for the engine air intake while intakes where the fog lights are usually fitted supply air to an oil cooler and the front brakes. The brakes are massive Brembo stoppers - 400x36mm front directionally slotted rotors with 6 pot calipers and 350x28mm directionally slotted rotors with 4 pot calipers. Drive is to all four wheels via a Quadra-Trac Active on Demand AWD system.
I am awaiting a chance to do a full review on the Trackhawk with the assistance of my local Jeep dealer - stay tuned to Drivetribe for this review!
