Between the three of them, the boys have had decades of experience in the television and entertainment industry. To call the three boys titans of the industry would be a great understatement.

Of course with all this experience comes a great number of memories, both good and bad. In a recent interview with The Times UK, Jeremy, James, and Richard share their most memorable moment in the TV careers.

Jeremy Clarkson

"I was on the launch of the Citroën AX many years ago. I may have over-refreshed myself on the booze the night before. The next day I was to be a co-driver at a provincial rally. I sat belted into the passenger seat, with my grey face, feeling nauseous and thinking: “I’m not going to survive. This rally driver is going to show off because he’s got a reporter with him.” As the flag lifted, I heard this almighty bang and God himself had intervened by breaking the driveshaft."

James May

"Driving across a log bridge over a gully in the old Top Gear days. I went first to see if it would break, then Jeremy went across shouting very loudly, knowing that it wouldn’t."

Richard Hammond

"Sitting by the road in Argentina, in that old Mustang I was in, looking at a sunset through a completely smashed windscreen [the presenters had been stoned by a mob who wrongly thought they were bragging about the Falklands War while filming the 2014 Top Gear Christmas special]. I took a photograph in my head."

My own favorite memory of the boys? It's the video clip I included above. It was the very first time I had ever been exposed to the three, and I was hooked from then on.

  • Sadly the one that sticks in my head is Richard's crash in 2006, I was 12 at the time, but I remember it well, and all the newspapers, news headlines on TV, weirdly when I saw the Rimac crash on TGT, I had a flashback of the dragster... I'm so glad he's still here and defying death along the way. <3
