We all know Jeremy Clarkson is one of the best motoring journalists in the Woorrlld and last night he won 'Motoring Personality of the Year 2018' in the first Sun Newspaper and Sunday Times Motoring awards held by News UK. Hammond and May were in attendance to see their colleague collect his award and to see the other category winners announced.
The Sun and Sunday Times Motoring Awards were given based on expert opinion and reader votes, with experts producing a shortlist, which the readers were then asked to vote on. The ceremony last night was well attended by motoring celebrities and influential industry figures such as Massimo Frascella who designed the Land Rover Discovery, seen here chatting to Hammond and Clarkson.

It seems that a good night was had by all and no doubt there was plenty of comment from Hammond and May as their colleague collected his award.
Jeremy Clarkson's Car of the Year
Of course there were award categories across the spectrum of cars available. Jeremy Clarkson chose the Lamborghini Huracán Performante as his Car of the Year
Jeremy's shortlist included cars as different as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio , the Bugatti Chiron and the VW Up! Yes, all in the same category. Jeremy said 'Lamborghini, I like to think, is run by a bunch of ten-year-olds'. You can read which cars won the categories in the awards in The Sun today and why Jeremy chose the Lamborghini in his Sunday Times column this weekend.
