Yes - you read that right. You now have the chance to own the Ford GT that Jeremy Clarkson had the joy of owning himself. As long as you have the cash.
I say 'joy', but in fact, this GT gave Clarkson countless headaches.
It was apparently a fault with the immobiliser, and its failure after a day of filming at Dunsfold meant they had to push it into a hangar, and Jeremy had to get a rental Toyota Corolla to drive home in. Not quite the supercar he hoped for.
“Ford sent a tow truck, changed the immobiliser and delivered the car to my house the following day,” Clarkson wrote at the time. “Is it fixed? I asked. Yes, they said. It wasn’t.”
“At three in the morning the alarm blew. And then again at four. This meant my wife started to refer to it as ‘that fucking car’, which took away a bit of the sheen, if I’m honest.”
This particular car was, unsurprisingly, unloved. It only has 60 miles on it. Not so shocking once you know the car wouldn't even start most of the time.
What's even worse, is that when Clarkson has issues with the alarm further down the line, he dropped it in to Ford for repairs, and got a diesel Ford Focus as a courtesy car. Classy!
It goes up for auction next month and of course, as usual, well keep you updated!
Would you pay the estimated $275,000 to $350,000 to own this piece of motoring memorabilia? Seems a lot of money to pay for a car that seems to be the unluckiest car in Top Gear history.
