It's no secret that Jaguar Land Rover has struggled in the past as sales and reliability haven't been where they'd hoped. But, JLR has just announced it has extended its partnership with SiriusXM which is bigger than you may think.

SiriusXM is a technology which is a satellite radio station which JLR products have been using for almost 20 years. Except now, JLR plans to include this as a standard option in all of its cars sold in America.

In additon to this, Jaguar Land Rover will soon start offering the SiriusXM with 360L platform, combining streaming content with satellite radio in a single entertainment package.

JLR North America's Director of Product Rob Filipovic says, "As we continue to work together with SiriusXM to further enhance our customer's in-vehicle experience, we're thrilled to be adding additional value to owners by making SiriusXM, and its countless listening options, standard on all '21 model year Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles."

This means that all buyers of 2021 models of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles will get access to a three-month trial subscription to the SiriusXM All Access programming package giving you access to over 150 channels.

  • "partnership with SiriusXM which is bigger than you may think" - that's funny, because I have had several vehicles that came with Sirius XM pre-paid, and that was always the one feature I never renewed after it expired.

    • Nope, the editor should not be chastised and the issue is that you are, as you point out, from Texas (although in this instance it's just because you're an American).

JLR sells cars internationally. The US is a single market. The base level...

    • Thanks for the clarification. Having standard and optional side by side, still makes no linguistical sense to me...

  • Yeah, I got this back when I bought my 2010 Ford Fusion. If you don't subscribe after the baiting period you are left with a dedicated SiriusXM button on your radio console. My experience using the service wasn't positive, your mileage may vary.
