Ever wondered how far a Chevrolet Sonic will go if you fling it off a ramp, in reverse? No, neither had we.
Former professional skateboarder and TV star Rob Dyrdek, however, kindly found out for us all, regardless – by setting out to establish a new world record, in 2014, for the longest reverse ramp jump in a car.
He didn't disappoint, either, clearing just over 89ft (27m) in Chevy's affordable hatch. The Sonic – the now-defunct Aveo, for UK readers – could still be driven following the jump, too, securing its place in Guinness record history.
Following the jump, Dyrdek said: "I couldn't tell if the car would turn a bit. You've just got to look, hammer it and go for it."

Gotta go faste!
Always wanted to see a ferrari 365 gtb/4 dayton on top gear back in the day doing something like this. Would have been great to see clarkson putting the 365 againts modern ferrari's in a drag strip where it would get destroyed. Then after it get its ass kicked he switched the drag race to reverse where it would crush all modern ferrari's.
