After nine races in ADAC Formula 4 with Van Amersfoort Racing in 2015, Kami Laliberté contested his first full season in the German series last year. In addition, the Canadian drove his car, number 35, to his first win at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

For the 21 scheduled races distributed over seven scheduled weekends in 2017, Laliberté will return to the grid with Van Amersfoort Racing. The 17-year-old pointed out that the Dutch outfit offers him the best environment "and all the necessary tools to be successful.

I intend to complete my experience in F4 on a good note. It is my aim to take advantage of the experience acquired in the ADAC championship during the 2016 season, to collect good results each time I am out on track, whether it’s in qualifying or in a race", explained the 17-year-old.

Laliberté concluded his 2016 season 9th in the overall standings. Furthermore, he entered the French F4 series at the Grand Prix de Pau in May 2016, where the Canadian took 2nd place in Sunday's race.

"Kami gathered precious experience and matured a lot. He accepted additional challenges over the last two years with two complete winter series in New Zealand. In car racing, whether it is on track or even on the simulator, adding more kilometres will always remain a very good recipe. Our young friend has applied this theory and made progress’", said Team Principal Frits Van Amersfoort.

Team Manager Jeroen de Jong added: "In the light of the results obtained at the end of 2016, Kami can hope for great results in the German championship. Since the competition is fierce on track, we intend to provide him the best environment and car possible. We have a very good team and all the necessary resources to ensure his success."

Laliberté is teaming up with Felipe Drugovich and Louis Gachot who were both confirmed in January 2017.
