KAWASAKI CONCOURS 14 POLICE PACKAGE: POLICE EXPENDITURE
In 2011 the Kawasaki Concours 14 began to be used in several US police departments
It was 2005 when the legendary Kawasaki KZP was removed from active duty at the police forces of numerous US cities in favour of more modern vehicles such as the BMW 1200RT or the Honda ST1300.

However, the efficiency of the motorcycle produced in the city of Lincoln had not been forgotten and this led numerous public security departments decided to adopt the new Concours 14 as a motorcycle for their agents.

Compared to the KPZ, the bike was not officially produced by Kawasaki and it was converted with special kits starting from standard models. These kits included an increased battery, sirens, flashing lights, adjustable digital speedometer, additional bags and encrypted radio.

Although the 1.3 four-cylinder engine managed by a six-speed gearbox had not been modified, the ABS system and the traction control were introduced to improve the management of the 156 hp engine power.

The bike proved to be an excellent commercial success despite several problems occurring to the electrical system due to defective drives installed during the conversion phase.
