Monisha Kaltenborn, best known as former CEO and Team Principal of Sauber F1, has collaborated with Franco-Monegasque entrepreneur Emily di Comberti to launch KDC Racing in Formula 4.
The team's infrastructure will be based in Montmeló, Barcelona, near the well-known Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Under a Swiss licence, the newly-formed team will take part in both the German and Italian Formula 4 Championships.
"I see the potential and a great future in Formula 4, which is still a new and very exciting series," explained Kaltenborn. "In particular, the development of young drivers very much appeals to me, some of whom who will be amongst the best in their field in the future. Formula 4 already shows just who has the makings of a World Champion. The impetus came from my partner Emily di Comberti, with whom I have the ambitious goal to quickly set up a competitive team."

"All prerequisites regarding operations, personnel and finances have been created, along with us having secured our first well-known sponsors. We will be able to announce our drivers shortly."
In the meantime, Kaltenborn will focus on her task as a co-owner, having a decisive influence on the strategy of the team. "My main responsibility is to prepare talented young drivers for their future racing careers. My many years of Formula 1 experience will be helpful, especially with hopeful young drivers professional support is important, and also to avoid the usual 'beginner mistakes'. The day-to-day business is led by our team manager Josep Trinidad, whom we place great trust in", said the 47-year-old.
In addition, there are "more promising projects" in the planning, "but it’s still too early to talk about it", stated Kaltenborn, leaving a crackle in the air for the fans who can't wait to see the team on track.
