The 50th birthday of Michael Schumacher is a great occasion to revisit the career of the most successfoul driver in the history of Formula 1. It’s been over five years that the driver, who broke every possible record in Formula-1 (and still keeps the most important ones) retired and only a little bit less time passed, since we are left in uncertainty, whether we will see him driving ever again.
In July, I had the opportunity to see the Schumacher Collection in the outskirts of Cologne, Germany. The Collection covers all periods (from go-karts to the Mercedes years), with lots of personal memorabilia and background information.
I still recall the brilliance, the challenges and struggle, and the untamed will to fight and the unrivaled drive towards perfection. Above all, I still hope that we will see the Michael we admired throughout the decades.
