KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY

This early production run 1981 Audi Coupe GT5S is owned and maintained by Bryan Marland. The car was bought NEW by his Grandad over 25 years ago! The car was sold on by his Grandad and Bryan actually tracked the car down and bought it back!

The car has had a nut & bolt rebuild by Bryan, fitting a 1.8T engine running 311bhp with the help of a Garrett GT2860rs turbo, front mounted intercooler, bigger injectors and mapped to suit.

The interior has been tastefully re-trimmed in Leather and Tweed to match the era of the car and an Alpine head unit coupled with Infinity speakers has been added to give Bryan some banging sounds!

Not exactly easy to get "off the shelf" bits for this car, Bryan set about fabricating the static suspension using coilovers to achieve that lovely 5" drop while 17 BBS split rims face mounted on 205/40/17 rubber keep the Coupe stuck to the road.

Scraped knuckles and man plasters

BM

I've known Bryan and the car for a few years now and every time i see the car, Theres been a few subtle tweaks, changes and modifications, usually done by Bryans own hands and usually followed by a story of scraped knuckles and man plasters!

One of the nicest guys in the Audi scene, Bryan is always happy to talk and help, if you see the car or Bryan, stop by, say hello and admire the car because the pictures just don't do this car justice!
