Keeping the Scottish Steam Theme going with another Bo’ness resident. North British Railway (NBR) C class. Only one of these locos survives No. 673 “Maude”, preseved in the livery she wore in the 1950s.
Maude is one of the cohort of her class sent to France during WWI. She was rebuilt before her trip to France in 1915 returning to Scotland in 1919.
The addition of 8F 45170 makes Bo’ness the only place in the UK home to two engines which spent both world wars away from home.
