Ken Block Does a Ken Block Thing In His New '91 Ford Escort Cosworth

I'm pretty convinced Mr. Block is unable to drive straight

To the non-gear/petrol-head, this Ford Escort is a small unassuming relic from the 90s. To those of us that live and breathe cars, we know it as the Group A rally legend Ford Escort Cosworth. Its racing pedigree is most likely why Ken Block decided to buy this car.

Of course, a Ken Block video would not be a Ken Block video without some smoking tires, and of course Mr. Block does not disappoint. The video below, featured on Daily Transmission, shows Ken performing some AWD donuts in the lot with his new toy.

The 1991 Ford Escort Cosworth that Ken bought features AWD with a turbocharged 2.0L 4 cylinder that produces around 350-400HP. Interestingly enough, the car features a seven speed gearbox, a variety of unlabeled switches (though Ken does point out the anti-lag and electronic diff switches), and a BMW brake lever, because why not?

The video shows the co-owner of Hoonigan, Vinny Anatra, challenging Block with the idea that no one has ever done an AWD donut in the lot. Of course Block wasn't about to let that challenge go unanswered, and the result is this video. Enjoy!

  • "The video shows the co-owner of Hoonigan, Vinny Anatra"

Vinny isn't a co-owner of Hoonigan... Ken Block and Brian Scotto that are the owners of Hoonigan, Vinny just works there.

  • This exact same car was used by Polish ERC 1997 Champion in late 1996 season, after his earlier Celica ST185 burned out in Germany. That driver is Krzysztof Hołowczyc.
