Kids in karts (2016 family account of kart racing on facebook live) #karts kart
This was our first attempt at racing at a national level. it's worth a try right?
Below you will find a compilation of 21 videos originally broadcast live on Facebook to our family and friends. In totality they capture what a traumatic experience racing on the road can be for a family. This was our trip to the 2016 SLKA Kid Kart Nationals. I hope you enjoy!
1. After a long process of go or no go. We decide to go and make a mess.
2. Last minute necessities.
3. Off we go.
4. Arrival at first hotel.
5. Arrival for the first time at the SLKA Nationals Kart Track.
6. First practice session for 2016 Nationals.
7. Good video of what a National practice is like.
8. Not happy with hotel so repack move and unpack again.
9. Prerace qualifying and guys with umbrellas.
10. Quick interview in Tec. Post Prefinal.
11. Race day arrival. Excited but clearly running on fumes.
13. Race day walk the track. Sorry about audio we were running off our phone.
14. Last interview before race on grid.
15. This was Chase and Colton's big crash. I was so nervous I had the camera pointed the wrong way! What do you think? Cool under pressure?
16. Race restart. It was 110 deg f and my phone would only run briefly before overheating.
17. race half way through. Phone overheat.
18. Finish of race. The kids had been sitting in full dress in the heat so long we were all concerned at this point.
19. Interview right after race. Cool down don't talk to me face.
20. Trophy time!
21. Bonus material. Kids running around for pictures. Everybody looks like shit on day 3 of a race.
So no matter how many pictures you take, you can see it does not capture the event. I have thought about going live for our local racing series. We have full video capability not but we may still go with the edit? If you would like to see one or the other now is the time to weigh in.

Just looked at some of video's not all its nearly 1am, but you are looking more and more tired as the photos progress, no doubt many hours of work before and afterwards and during. I really must get speakers I am missing a lot. Very dedicated
Thanks for watching Angela! It was a 3 day marathon and our first time racing at a national level. Great experience for the kids. The competition was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
