Kyvat 'not nervous' about his future in AlphaTauri
The 'Torpedo' has stated that he feels comfortable about his future in the F1 team as this year's championship looms closer to the end.
Although Daniil Kyvat may be a master of crashing - a driving trait that cost him his place at the Red Bull team - he does not seem to be worried about his future in the AlphaTauri team, despite the fact that team boss Franz Tost expressed a liking to Red Bull Junior Team racer Yuki Tsunoda, who took 3rd place in the F2 World Championship this year.
With only 7 races in this year's championship remaining and no victories under his belt, it seems that Kyvat is going to have to try REALLY hard to not get the axe.
In an interview with Russian media outlet Sport-Express, Kyvat stated:
“There are no negotiations. I think we will communicate within the next 30 days...I am not nervous and I understand all this perfectly. We are only in the middle of the season. Good results are always the best argument for negotiations. The rest is secondary.”
It's possible that Kyvat could be retained by AlphaTauri for next year's championship because of his podium position at the 2019 German Grand Prix, but since this year's championship in not yet over, all we can do is watch and hope that the 'Torpedo' will do something impressive to secure his position for next year.
