Lamborghini Aventador successor will look like nothing we've seen before
Lamborghini has said the new Aventador will be 'a completely different cup of tea'
Lamborghini has announced the end of the Aventador and revealed the Ultimae as a great send-off for the 10-year-old supercar.
The Aventador has become a legend in supercar design, but Lamborghini wants to move away from this look and make something completely different for its successor.
Speaking to Autocar, Lamborghini's boss said: "The Ultimae is a design that comes out of the tradition of the Aventador. The follow-up will be a completely different cup of tea, much like going from the Murcielago to the Aventador."
While we don't know exactly what it will look like, it is likely Lamborghini will take inspiration from the Sián FKP 37 – a bonkers fighter jet-looking supercar from the Italian brand. The Ultimae will bear no resemblance to the new generation of the brand's flagship supercar.
The Aventador's successor isn't due to arrive until 2023 and will launch with a hybrid-assisted V12 engine. The hybridisation of the V12 has upset many purists, but it simply isn't possible for brands to keep the naturally-aspirated version alive due to current global regulations.
