Lamborghini celebrates another huge milestone for the Huracán GT3
Over 17,000 road cars and 400 race cars
At some point in the not too distant future, it is probably going to be overtaken by the Urus but, as things stand, the Huracán is the best-selling Lambo of all time, by a considerable margin, having sold over 14,000 units in just five years (2014-2019) and 2,193 more units in 2020. And there's more because in addition to spectacular sales performance off the track, Lambo has also reached a significant milestone *on* the track, with 400 units built since 2014 between the Super Trofeo and the GT3.
The first ever Huracán Super Trofeo was introduced in 2014, followed by the GT3 in 2015. The GT3 has won nearly 100 races across the globe in just six seasons, including the Daytona 24 Hours (three times), the Sebring 12 Hours twice and the GT World Challenge Europe in 2019. In 2020 alone, GT3 EVOs have been covered a total of 20,000 km, driven by 88 different drivers and representing 24 different teams.
"We are proud of the milestone, which is important not only for Squadra Corse but for the whole company," said Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann. "In a few years Squadra Corse has established itself in the most important international competitions and the Huracán GT3 and Super Trofeo are an undisputed point of reference in the Gran Turismo category."
