Lamborghini has made 10,000 Aventadors since 2011

The naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 monster from Lamborghini known as the Aventador has just reached a milestone. As of today, Lamborghini has just rolled the 10,000th off the line which is an insane amount for such a relatively small supercar manufacturer. They are no Volkswagen with the Beetle but it's mighty impressive.

  • I’m honestly surprised there have been that many.

  • What that is, is a testament to Lamborghini branding and peoples love for noise and showing off; that they can make the exact same car for 9 years and just keep pumping them out. It must be an amazing feeling as a company. However, it also feels lazy because if you look at what Ferrari have been doing in the meantime, from improved reliability, new V8s, turbos, Hybrid, new V12s, new convertibles etc. not to mention Porsche and everything they are doing. Even the lambo SUV is just a reworked Q7/Cayenne... what do they do all day?

Now that they have even more support from their parent VW...

    • Yea, fair, but so is Ferrari. But I hear what you are saying, I still love Lambos and I think the Aventador is an epic machine, as much as it may not be a good car per se. I just think it is amazing how they seem to rely more on consistent cash cows...

  • I find it ridiculous that in the past when the thing was still new, they said "the rig (for manufacturing the CFRP monocoque) can only make 500 chassis, and we only have 8", and i assumed they'd stopped the production when all the rigs have reached the maximum number (4000 in total) and move on to a new model since the Murcielago was only made in a similarly low number (4999, I think).

And they've just past the 10.000th unit mark.

  • The question is, does Lamborghini still make Aventador or they have plans to retire the lineup?
