Lamborghini's launch of the new Sian was their first foray into the electric vehicle market. Lamborghini opted to go for a unique philosophy with their first hybrid: keep the engine naturally aspirated but add electrification to improve fuel economy. This was done before with the LaFerrari, however Ferrari's next hybrid vehicle would be the SF90, a twin turbocharged V8 supercar. The Sian, however, may be an example of how future Lamborghini models are produced. As fuel economy standard become stricter, hybrid systems can help Lamborghini's models meet those requirements by filling in during stops and starts and during highway cruising.

Lamborghini announced the Sian all the way back in late 2019 (man that feels like much longer than a year ago) but models haven't begun to ship to North America just yet; until now. The first customer-ordered Sian was purchased through Lamborghini Newport Beach, down in Orange County, California. This doesn't come as much of a surprise considering Southern California's rich car culture. This particular Sian was ordered in this gorgeous orange color with black accents that helps give the whole car a beautiful contrasted look. If you're interested in learning more about this particular Sian, Stradman has an awesome video about the car and the whole delivery process here:

  • Hey look the car no one asked for, stop making special edition models based off the Aventador and make a new car, come on already!

    • Its an example of how they might do electrification in the future. It's market research as much as it is a prototype. Relax.

    • I can understand that, I guess it makes sense to see how people respond to a hybrid lambo, and experimenting with a hybrid platform is also good for research, I would assume though they would just use Audi tech though.
