Today's the end of the first week of the Dakar rally, which is being run right now in Saudi Arabia. While I dont have any Dakar winners in my collection yet, I thought I'd post the next closest car I have. So here you go... The 2002 Rallye Tunisie winning Mitsubishi Pajero Montero. And, true to recent form, this is a repost from the old haunt.

I have been waiting to post these pictures for some time now. I shot these for the “Red Day” for Car Week 2018, but ultimately went with something else. And I would have posted it almost immediately afterward, except someone mentioned “Truck Week” on my Instagram page. Trucks aren’t really my thing and this is probably the only one that I *had* then that was worth showing off. So I waited. And waited. And Truck Week hasn’t happened yet and I am gonna wait no more!

So here it is, my entry for Plasticprints’ ORAT Giveaway - the Mitsubishi Pajero Montero that was driven by Stéphane Peterhansel and Jean-Paul Cottret to the win at the Optics 2000 Rallye Tunisie in 2002.

This is a 1/58 scale casting from Majorette’s Racing Series. True to Majorette’s form, this has a opening hood and realistic tampos. And true to my form, I am not a big fan of the plastic offroad wheels.
