Lando Norris reveals MCL35 launch date via livestream
A PR stunt from McLaren or a genuine mistake?
The posts on McLaren's official twitter page warning of their driver, Lando Norris having 'taken over' by founding out their password would definitely suggest the former. The quick posts by McLaren, confirming the launch date, would seem as though they were ready for it.
The 2020 McLaren MCL35 will be unveiled on the 13th February, exactly one month from today and in a bizarre and seemingly staged meeting, Norris let slip the date, claiming to have heard it from Zak Brown. The team members sat around the table and had already welcomed him in (almost too welcomingly) but quickly fell silent after the reveal.
In the background was a beginning of a PowerPoint presentation labelled 'MCL35 Car Launch', 'Exclusive Fan Reveal Confidential.' The picture underneath the title was almost definitely a picture of last year's MCL34, with a driver crouched next to it in McLaren's usual car launching room in the MTC. It is most likely McLaren have attempted to capitalise on Lando Norris's popularity as an online streamer and simply revealed the date in a different way.
All credit to them for pulling it off.
