Ferrari has released full details of their new high-performance variant of the 812 Superfast, dubbed the 812 Competizione; the convertible is called the Competizione Aperta. Under the hood is a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 that produces 818 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, and can rev up to 9,500 RPM. The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch unit. Thanks to a 38kg weight loss (84 pounds), 62 MPH is achieved from a standstill in 2.85 seconds, 124 MPH is achieved in 7.7, and the top speed is 211 MPH (340 KPH). Equipment includes four-wheel steering, version 7.0 of Side Slip Control, and a vortex generator instead of a rear window. 999 examples of the coupe and 599 examples of the Aperta will be built, and all 1,598 are sold out. The coupe started at €499,000 ($599,224/£430,932) and the Aperta started at €578,000 ($694,091/£499,190).
The Ford Explorer Timberline is a more rugged version of the Explorer. Thanks to all-terrain tires and a suspension lift, the ground clearance has increased from 7.9 to 8.7 inches (20.1, 22.1 cm), and the approach and departure angles have increased from 20.1 and 22.0 degrees, respectively, to 23.5 and 23.7 degrees. A set of skid plates protects the underbody and heavy-duty shocks from the Police Interceptor, modified for off-road use, are standard. Powering the vehicle is a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque; the transmission is a 10-speed automatic. Pricing starts at $47,010 (£33,799/€39,153).
For it's 2022 redesign, the Škoda Fabia has moved to the MQB-A0 platform. Engine choices are a naturally aspirated 1.0-liter petrol three-cylinder coming with either 64 or 79bhp, a turbocharged 1.0-liter petrol three-cylinder coming with either 94 of 109bhp, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol four-cylinder producing 148bhp. The four-cylinder comes standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and cylinder deactivation. Trim levels will be S, SE, and SEL, the wheels range from 14 to 18 inches, the standard information system measures 3.5 inches, the optional touchscreen infotainment system ranges from 6.5 to 9.2 inches, and the optional digital gauge cluster measures 10.25 inches (35.6, 45.7, 8.9, 16.5, 23.4, 26 cm). Pricing has not been announced.
The Citroën Ami Cargo replaces the passenger seat of the Ami with 400 liters (14 cubic feet) of space for up to 140kg (309 pounds) of cargo. The eight-horsepower output allows for a top speed of 30 MPH (48 KPH), and the 5.5kWh battery allows for a range of 47 miles (76 km). Pricing starts at €6,490 ($7,794/£5,603).
The passenger version of the Ami will be available for about six months as a rental car in Portland, Oregon, and Washington, D.C., through car-sharing service Free2Move USA. When exactly it arrives or how much it will cost to rent have not been announced.
The Ford E-Transit is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor generating 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, allowing for a 3,800-pound payload capacity for the van and a 4,290-pound capacity for the non-vans (1,724, 1,946 kg). The 67kWh battery back allows for a range of 126 miles (203km). Orders begin in July, but pricing has not been announced.
The Buick Encore has received minor updates for 2022. It's 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine has received a boost from 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque to 155 horsepower and 177 pound-feet. Power is sent to either the front or all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. New features include pockets and electric heaters for the front seatbacks, active noise cancellation, and a standard 7.0-inch (18cm) touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Pricing has not been announced.
The Infiniti Q50 Signature Edition adds polished 19-inch (48cm) wheels, a dark chrome grille, a brown leather interior, and Signature edition badging to the top Sensory trim level. It costs $49,920 (£35,895/€41,379), but there is no word on how many will be produced.
Fiat has added a "Hey Google" variant to the 500, 500L, and 500X, which features two-tone paint, Google Nest Hub, and the Google voice assistant. By saying "Hey Google, ask my Fiat...", users can learn useful information about their car, such as the amount of fuel remaining. The 500 starts at £16,005 ($22,366/€18,388).
Genesis will officially start selling cars in Europe and Britain this summer. The first models to arrive will be the G80 and GV80, followed by the G70 and GV70. Within the first year, electric and diesel powertrains will become available, and a G70 estate arrives sometime afterward.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at in £36,995 Britain ($51,723/€42,571).
