Le Mans-winning Jaguar XJR-9: DriveTribe In Detail | Episode 1
We know that you DriveTribers are REALLY into your cars and love getting nerdy about the mechanical bits and pieces that make up the vehicles we love. So, to answer your prayers, we've kicked off a YouTube series that will perform technical deep dives into the most epic parts of the motoring world.
In Episode 1, we decided to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a true motorsport legend - the 1988 Le Mans-winning Jaguar XJR-9. I take a look at what made this car so special in terms of its aerodynamic trickery before delving into the magnificent internals of this V12 beast.
The No.2 XJR-9 managed to haul its way to the finish line at Le Mans despite a broken transmission which meant it was stuck in 4th gear for the last part of the race. It thankfully made it, joined by two of its sister cars that were in place to literally shunt it across the finish line if needed.
And just wait until I start it up...
