Leaked: Is this the new Ferrari 296 GTS?

It was only a matter of time before Ferrari made a convertible 296

Earlier this year, Ferrari unveiled its latest supercar: the 296 GTB – an 819hp hybrid supercar with a top speed of more than 200mph.

However, like with most of the brand's cars, a convertible option almost always launches soon after the coupe (GTB), and this is precisely what we think has been filmed here.

The YouTube channel Varryx has spotted what looks to be a Ferrari 296 GTS/Spider testing around the streets of Maranello, Italy. The only difference between the two is that one of them will have a retractable roof as performance figures should stay the same.

No release date has been unveiled just yet, but Ferrari tends to leave a gap of roughly six months between coupe and convertible variants.

As for pricing, we expect the 296 GTS to cost around £30,000 more than the £231,000 GTB and for customer deliveries to begin in the second half of 2022.

  • I haven't seen a Ferrari this smooth and curvy since the 308, 328, 288 GTO.
