Learner riding lesson goes badly...

Even smaller capacity bikes can still be lethal in the wrong hands

There's a really good reason why professional bike instructors exist. It's to stop incidents like this where a total novice narrowly avoids killing themselves.

The rider clearly had no prior experience of using a clutch or throttle, but at least the "instructor" had the smart idea of giving the newbie a helmet.

  • First thing I ask when teaching kids - "how do you stop the bike?" 😏

  • Great use of inverted commas! Instructor my arse! Why give them a helmet and let them ride in joggers!

    • Push bike maybe? My instructor starts all riders on 500cc/650cc if they go for 37KW or unrestricted class or on 125cc if they do 125cc class or arent even familiar with bicycles at all. Never had 1st lesson accident like that :P

    • That's my point. The rider clearly has never sat on a bike before, so why not give him/her a 125cc to get used to first It's like someone learning to drive a car in an AMG Black. It just shouldn't happen.
