I'm digging into the PCA e-Brake archives to bring up some articles you may have missed but are still very relevant today.

It's not everyday that we witness a 1949 Porsche 356 "Gmünd" coupe, let alone one driving around the streets of Los Angeles. With Jerry Seinfeld at the wheel and Jay Leno in the passenger seat. But that's what happens in Seinfeld's latest episode of (link is external)Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (link is external).
Seinfeld's 1949 356 is the 40th built in Porsche's factory in Gmünd, Austria (hence the car's nickname), with a body that was hammered into shape by hand. Despite its age, he says the car retains all of its original parts! The shape of these early cars still influence Porsche vehicle design today - which is seen in the curves of the latest 911s.
Both Seinfeld and Leno are Porsche aficionados, a fact that shines through in this nearly 15-minute spot. If you have some spare time, it's worth checking out the video (link is external), if not for the hilarious banter between the two comedy legends, then to see a Gmünd coupe being driven around Los Angeles in all its glory. Enjoy!
