Let battle commence!

An eggcellent adventure!

Here's a blast from the past, from Richard's TV vaults of presenting!

Battle of the geeks was an hour long show and was first transmitted back in 2006, on BBC2 here in the UK, in association with The Open University

We've all heard of the Great Egg Race, i'm sure, and this show was a modern day 21st Century version of it

Two teams of British and American inventors and scientists went head to head, and had just 48 hours to get creative by designing, building and flying their very own craft. A craft that would ultimately cross the worlds second biggest canyon, Fish River Canyon in Namibia

The two teams were assisted by Dr Kal Spelletich, dubbed as the " performance scientist', and Dr Ian Johnston, the inventor of the worlds most flippable beermat of all things! (yep, there is such a thing!)

Their task was to see if they could manage to transport a 'fragile' and 'precious' item, from one side of the canyon to the other, ensuring of course that it would survive the journey in tact

If you haven't already guessed, ahem, eggsactly what this 'precious' piece of cargo is, well you'll have 'egg' on your face!
