Let Richard Hammond show you what happens when four tonnes of water hits a car
Outside of his work with Clarkson and May, Richard Hammond has filmed a whole bunch of documentaries and science-based shows that have produced some seriously cool experiments.
This particular experiment shows what happens to a car when you pour a year's worth of rainfall directly on top of it, all at once. Four tonnes of water versus a one-tonne car? It was never going to be a happy ending.
Especially when the car in question is a flimsy Peugeot 205, it's no surprise that the water completely obliterates its roof and would almost certainly be lethal to anyone on board. The lesson? Never underestimate the power of water. And don't park under a JCB with a lethal amount of water in its shovel.
