LEWIS HAMILTON 6 TIME WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!
The former 5 time world champion has added another trophy to his cabinet as he crossed the line to secure his 6th title in at the end of the US GP making him only the second driver in history to hold that many titles. He joins Schumacher, who has 7 titles, in the history books with the possibility of equaling and even exceeding Michael’s tally to become the greatest driver of all time.
Hamilton has had such an amazing career over the years from his first world title in 2008 in only his second year in F1 with a 6 year gap between that and his second title in 2014 followed by his third in 2015. He had a tough time of it in 2016 battling hard against his then teammate Nico Rosberg, who took that years title right down to the wire in Abu Dhabi to take the title from his 3 time world champion teammate. Hamilton then went on to take the 2017 and 2018 titles easily from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel who’s odd mistakes over those years lost him the chance to take those away from Lewis. This years battle really was between the Mercedes drivers with Ferrari not really being in the running in the latter stages of the season. Bottas started the season really well but fell away in these last few races to hand the title to the Brit, who really should be considered on the honours list soon to be knighted for his services to motorsport and showing the world what a guy from Stevenage can really achieve!!!
Congratulations Lewis Hamilton and here’s to the 7th world championship this time next year 😉.
