Lewis Hamilton is launching a plant-based burger chain
Lewis Hamilton is an internationally renowned, five-time Formula One World Champion looking well on his way to getting a sixth title this year. He already holds records for pole positions, fastest laps, race wins and podiums and could even surpass Michael Schumacher’s tally of seven world titles in a few years.
One thing only his most dedicated fans and Instagram followers will know about him is his dedication to being on a meat-free diet. In fact, for a few years, he has been only eating plant-based food.
He is so passionate about the vegan lifestyle that he has joined Tommaso Chiabra, a Beyond Meat and Unicef ambassador to launch a brand-new burger chain, Neat Burger. The difference between Neat Burger and your generic MaccyD’s or cheeky Nando’s is that everything this new restaurant chain will sell will be entirely plant-based food.
By no means does this make it unappealing. In fact, after just a quick browse on the company’s Instagram page, you will be drooling like a Saint Bernard. Obviously, based on Chiabra’s involvement with Beyond Meat, the burgers will use their meat replacement.
The drinks also look great and are produced with the planet in mind. In fact, Just Water, an eco-friendly water brand started by Jaden Smith will be served alongside coconut and soya-based milkshakes, plant-based beer Toast Ale and ethical lemonade (whatever that means).
Speaking about the new venture, Lewis said, “I’m very passionate about being kinder to our world and also really respect Neat Burger’s commitment to more ethical practices and supporting small businesses, so this is something I’m also really proud to support. But it is also about the product. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I believe we need a healthier high street option that tastes amazing but also offers something exciting to those who want to be meat-free every now and again. Beyond Meat is an incredible partner and I can’t wait to work with the team to expand Neat Burger internationally.”
After the first restaurant in the chain opens in London on September 2nd, the Neat Burger team is looking to open 14 other restaurants around the world.
