Lewis Hamilton meets the AMG Project ONE
We've all heart about it, but few of us have actually been able to see it. The AMG Project ONE is the absaloute pinnacle of Mercedes-AMG road-car performance, and it has been one of the most delayed cars in history. Due to various things such as stricter emissions laws the AMG ONE with its V6 hybrid powertrain may finally get on the road by 2021 at the earliest.
However, if you are special enough Mercedes will let you take a look at their latest and greatest hypercar, and one of those special people happen to be Lewis Hamilton. The famed Mercedes Formula-1 driver has just recently come off his sixth World Championship, and as if to reward him for his good work, Mercedes have let him take a peek at the Project ONE.
Posing for a photo with none other than Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche (the one with the mustache) Hamilton can be seen next to the AMG One.
AMG have also put out a video with the famed racing driver talking about the PROJECT ONE and it's capabilities. Although he was not shown driving the car, he did mention that this car truly brings F1 technology to the road. Now, it remains to be seen whether or not these comments are truly accurate, because many manufacturers (Ferrari) claim that their cars are basically F1 cars for the road. When in reality the features they are marketing have very little to do with actual F1 technology.
That being said, it does seem to be a very capable car. And it better be, because after all of those delays and a price tag of over $2.7 million USD it better be good.
