Lewis Hamilton reveals his plan to shake-up Grand Prix weekends
Should the format of the races be changed under the new owners?
Lewis Hamilton has proposed a shake-up to the F1 weekend format after the free practice chaos at the Chinese Grand Prix.
The drivers had less than 17 minutes of running in FP1 at Shanghai on Friday before the session was red flagged twice because of bad weather.
FP2 was cancelled completely leaving thousands of fans in the grandstands disappointed.
Hamilton came out of the Mercedes garage to see his supporters in the stand opposite the pitlane, but he also tweeted his frustration at the curtailed running.
Once the second practice session was called off there was even talk of bringing the race forward to Saturday in a bid to avoid the worst of the weather which was forecast to arrive on Sunday.
That possibility was dismissed by race director Charlie Whiting, but Hamilton suggested the events of the day were an opportunity for F1's new owners Liberty Media to look at freshening up the format of the weekend.
The three time world champion suggested having the three practice sessions on the Saturday, then qualifying on Sunday morning followed by the race itself in the afternoon.
What do you think of Lewis' plan?

An entire day less of ticket sales. Also moving qualifying to Sunday means people will just buy 1 ticket, Sunday. So two days less of ticket sales. Never going to happen.
I dont think that would be affected too much, also have the support races to squeeze in.
That's a good point
I think Lewis's plan is a very good one. How it will fit in if you have an accident during qualifying and can't be ready for the race I don't know... that may be the only disadvantage!
Prefer team championship race on Saturday, driver championship race Sunday. Could be fun
less track time for support categories, less ticket sales. poor idea.
I actually really like the current format. I think they have bigger fish to fry anyway and would do well to leave this alone for the time being.
