A Formula 1 Grand Prix is all about watching the 20 fastest drivers in the world go up against each other in speed machines specially designed for them by the best engineers on the planet.

But no Grand Prix could ever take place were it not for the hundreds of volunteers who give up their time for nothing to act as safety marshals at the tracks, each one ready to help a stricken driver at a moment's notice should they be needed.

They are never in the spotlight, but without them, F1 would not be able to exist.

And on Friday night, local hero Lewis Hamilton took time out of his busy schedule to deliver some well-deserved snacks and beer to some of the volunteers at Silverstone.

He not only drove the van himself (naturally), but he also joined them for a beer himself – only one of course, since he had to drive in the morning.

If this lot weren't Hamilton fans before, you can bet they are now...
