Lewis Hamilton to play mentor role in Gran Turismo Sport
Gran Turismo Sport announced a partnership with the three-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton for its forthcoming game.
The Mercedes driver will play the maestro and mentor role in the game, where he will be seen leading and guiding the players.
“I have been playing Gran Turismo since I was a child, so to actually be part of the gameplay design has been an incredible experience," said Hamilton.
The British racer's driving philosophy, his techniques and more will be shared on the game through images and interviews for the players as a guide to better their times.
Gran Turismo series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi added: "From watching Lewis drive on TV all these years, I had an idea of how he might drive, but the experience of watching him drive in person was well beyond my wildest expectations.
"And I'm really glad to be able to share his driving philosophy with all Gran Turismo players," he added.
The Gran Turismo racing game is scheduled for a worldwide release later this month, with it going live in North America on October 17, followed by Europe on October 18.
The racing video game is being developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4.
