Lewis Hamilton will teach you how to play Gran Turismo Sport

The creators of Gran Turismo Sport have announced the details of a new in-game driving instructor. If you think this instructor is some amateur digital assistant, then think again, as he knows a thing or two about driving a car quickly.

Step forward three-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton who is well known for being handy behind the wheel.

The man himself confirmed his excitement at being a part of the upcoming title “I have been playing Gran Turismo since I was a child, so to actually be part of the gameplay design has been an incredible experience,”

Hamilton is being listed as a Gran Turismo Sport mentor meaning players can watch episodes where he provides advice to players that want to (try to!) match his laptimes. This will sit alongside driving theories and actual footage of the man himself playing the game so you can see how it's done.

The creators of Gran Turismo Sport are equally enthused to have Lewis as part of the upcoming racer with creator Kazunori Yamauchi stating “I had an idea of how he might drive, but the experience of watching him drive in person was well beyond my wildest expectations.

  • I still won't buy it, even though I really liked the beta and would love this driving school mode featuring Lewis Hamilton. The lack of an offline career is what is keeping me, despite being a long time GT fan.

  • Does anyone else think the demo seems really easy? It doesn’t feel like a challenge, the cars have too much grip. Maybe it’s just the demo?
