Lexus LC convertible concept to make its world debut in Detroit
Three years ago Lexus caused a wave of excitement when the LC coupe made its debut in Detroit, and now the Japanese carmaker is set to show off its LC convertible concept at the same show next week.
Tadao Mori, Chief Designer of the LC Convertible Concept said, "This concept takes the unmistakable design of the LC coupe and reimagines it as a future convertible. It blends all the best aspects of the original coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible.”
The concept may have used the original design of the coupe as a base, but if anything is more beautiful than the original, and will also act as a halo model for the whole Lexus brand.
At the moment Lexus is only releasing minimal information about the concept, but has revealed it will be 0.4 inches shorter and 0.2 inches lower than the coupe model.
"A production version of this concept would be exhilarating in many different ways. You would see its dynamic lines as you approach, hear its engine when you start it up and feel everything around you once on the road. It would engage the senses in an exciting way, every time you get behind the wheel,” said Mori.
