Lionel 1:24 Brett Moffitt 2020 Camaro
A homage of the green bandit is added to AP's collection!
2020 was a year that many would like to forget. But, it introduced some awesome paint schemes through the race season. As soon as I saw this Destiny Homes throwback livery from Our Motorsports on the track I was instantly in love. So, I was salivating at the chance to get this in diecast form and add it to my NASCAR collection.
On top of that, the car was/is driven by Brett Moffitt, one of the most underrated drivers on the track. I love watching Brett race and always root for him to get to the front and win. This super clean throwback scheme is dedicated to Harry Gant's #33 Skoal Bandit racer that was a fan favorite of the late 80's to early 1990's.
Sadly, Lionel did not offer this model as an Elite version. So I opted to grab the next best thing. This one is dual autographed by the immortal Brett himself and the legendary Harry Gant. Joy!
Since it's not an Elite car, the overall build details are lacking. Engine bay is very basic and nothing to write home about. Same goes for the undercarriage. But, where this model shines (literally) is the paintjob itself and very nice clearcoat finish that just looks amazing.
This was one of my favorite cars to see on the track last year. It drew me into be a fan of Our Motorsports racing team as well. 2021 has been a tough season for them with some fantastic finishes but some tough low points. Brett had to sit out 2 recent races and then finished dead last in yesterday's Bristol race due to an early accident (that's Bristol!).
One thing is for certain, Our Motorsports and Brett are a team of fighters that will come back to the track ready to race next week!
1 of 33... Well played Lionel. Well played.
