World class athletes are often criticized for their questionable taste when it comes to cars but Lionel Messi seems to know what he’s doing as his car collection includes a magnificent 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti. - a website that specializes in online games and slots - has conducted a research to find out who has the most expensive car collection in the world of sports and PSG star Messi took the number 1 spot.

His car collection currently comprises 13 cars, with a total value of £28,169,068, and tops the list ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in second place (19 vehicles, £18million), with F1 champion Lewis Hamilton in third place, with nine cars worth £12.4million. Boxer Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Messi's club team-mate Neymar completed the top five, while Conor McGregor placed in ninth despite being the highest paid athlete.

Messi’s car collection is worth in excess of £28 chiefly because his 1957 Ferrari 355 S alone is worth around £23-24m. He purchased it in 2016 for €28m (£22m at the time.)

He also owns a F430 Spider, a couple of Range Rovers, a Pagani Zonda Roadster, a Dodge Charger and, you’re gonna love this, a Toyota Prius, which he received as a gift when Barcelona beat Santos at the 2011 Club World Cup in Yokohama, Japan.

Not really a car-related question but… Messi or Ronaldo, who’s your favourite?

  • Ronaldo. He's much more exciting as a character.

  • I'm CR7 all the way, but that collection is something else, especially that Fezza.

  • Lifelong Manchester United fan, so it has to be Ronaldo for me (since his first spell with the club back when he was a winger) even if Barcelona and PSG are my teams in La Liga and Ligue 1 respectively.

    Messi’s 335 though – just stunning.
